COLUMBUS — Lowndes County investigators have now charged five new suspects in the May 20 shooting death of a 19-year-old man.

Chief Deputy Greg Wright says Brandon Lakeith Brown, 25, of Columbus was arrested over the weekend in Reform, Ala., along with Reform residents Johnny Ray Brock Jr., 22, Richard Lamar Lee, 16, Joshua Miquel Taylor, 23, and Cameron Jacquse Merriweather, 24.

Wright says the five men are charged with capital murder in the shooting death William Deshun Stallings and for robbing a woman at the house. The woman escaped unharmed.

Wright says capital murder charges were dropped last week against Quinton Harris, Alexander Brown and Khalid Roby, who were first arrested in the case.
