GUNTOWN – Police responded to a possible drowning Tuesday in Guntown.

A 45-year-old man was found dead at 419 Ford Ave. in a creek on the property about 7:20 p.m. His body was sent to Jackson for autopsy.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, there were no signs of foul play and there’s a chance the man may have slipped and fallen down a steep ravine. His neighbors reportedly found him after he was gone for about 45 minutes.
