Today, Senior U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers agreed to move their trial start to Oct. 31 in Oxford.
Last week, Garner's attorney, Ronald Michael of Booneville, said his defense team needed more time to wade through "voluminous" materials related to their case.
He also told the court that government prosecutors did not object to a delay.
Biggers signed the order, agreeing to the change.
Shoemaker and Garner pleaded not guilty to the charges and are free on $50,000 bond each.
They were scheduled to begin trial June 27.
