FULTON – Andy Kirk, who led West Union to a Class 1A championship in 2009, was named

softball coach at Itawamba Community College on Thursday.

“I’m super excited to be coming to

Itawamba Community College and moving up back to the college ranks of coaching,” said Kirk, an Ingomar graduate who helped revive the East Union softball program in 2010.

Kirk, 176-91 as a high school softball coach, replaces outgoing softball coach Chad Case, who will take over as Housing Director at ICC in July.

Kirk’s coaching resume also includes stints at Delta State and the Ball State University baseball team.
