TUNICA, Miss. (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration has approved a $1.01 million grant for construction of new terminal building at the Tunica Municipal Airport.

U.S. Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, both R-Miss., say new terminal will help accommodate passengers more efficiently and help establish the airport as an economic draw in the Mississippi Delta.

The grant was awarded to Tunica County and the Tunica County Airport Commission.

The grant is the second awarded for the terminal building project, which is planned as a 10,500-square-foot facility. Last June, the FAA approved a $781,524 grant for the project
