SMITHVILLE — Authorities claim two arrests June 20 after the alleged discovery of marijuana growing at one's home.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Andy Hood, deputies and agents with the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit searched the home of 57-year-old Terry Allan Bowen at 60046 George Pearce Road. They claim Bowen, the homeowner, was growing 18 marijuana plants, which is a felony offense.

Also living at the residence was 47-year-old Jeannie E. Decker, who allegedly was a wanted fugitive from Cook County (Chicago), Ill. Decker was on probation with the State of Illinois and reportedly moved to Mississippi without permission. She will be extradited back to Illinois.

Bowen was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and Decker with probation violation. Bond had not yet been set on Bowen.
