HOUSTON – The annual Houston Homecoming event is drawing near and this year’s commemorative shirts have been ordered. Short-sleeve and long-sleeve t-shirts will be available for sale at the Homecoming event with prices starting at $11 and up, depending on style and size.

Amy Alford is chairperson for t-shirts and said the committee decided to redesign the shirts for the upcoming event.

Alford said she may be able to get the shirts back before the event for sale but will definitely have them available at the Homecoming for purchase.

Day of fun

The festivities will kick off at 5 p.m. with the children's and veteran’s parade. Participants will line up at 4:45 p.m. at the Lower Elementary School. The veteran’s trailer will be available for military personnel to ride and children and youth are encouraged to decorate their bikes, trikes and wagons in a patriotic theme.

Chuck Carroll of French Camp Radio will be on hand again to serve as master of ceremonies. Live entertainment will feature several local and area bands, including Bobby Hood, Hearts in Service, Nathan Carlisle and Morgan and Morgan.

The evening will conclude with the annual fireworks show.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the fun.
