Roger Wiggington, age 67, of Amory was arrested at his home this morning by investigators with the Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and charged with five counts possession of child porn. The arrest was made with assistance from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our cyber crime unit and law enforcement officers statewide are hard on the trail of those believed to be downloading child porn in Mississippi,” said Attorney General Hood. “We have a great working relationship with Sheriff Andy Hood and appreciate his and his deputies’ assistance on this case.”
Wiggington was booked into the Monroe County jail. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years behind bars per count (total of 200 years). As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
