Boy struck while riding bike

COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — A 7-year-old boy has died in Lowndes County after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike outside the Columbus city limits.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identifies the victims as Malik King. Merchant says the accident happened Monday.

Merchant says King was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle where he was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred at a street intersection along Mississippi Highway 182.
