TUPELO - Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Luckett made a campaign stop in Tupelo on Tuesday as part of a statewide tour launched last week.

Luckett greeted shoppers at the Downtown Tupelo Farmers' Market, where he talked about his platform for early childhood education, job growth and an end to the sales tax on food.

The Clarksdale attorney and business owner also purchased some locally grown produce.

Luckett will continue his tour to the Golden Triangle, Jackson and the Gulf Coast.

He faces Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree and two other Democrats in the Aug. 2 primary.
