Northeast Community College pitcher Blake Powell (Germantown, Tenn.) has signed to play baseball at Christian Brothers University next season. ... Ingomar native Troy Howell was named men’s and women’s assistant basketball coach at Northwest Community College on Monday. Howell was the women’s basketball coach at Rust College the last five seasons. He replaces Shane Oakley who left earlier this month to become assistant men’s coach at Jones Junior College.
