Children entering school for the first time in Mississippi must be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis; polio; hepatitis B; measles, mumps and rubella; and chicken pox. Parents must provide the school with a certificate of immunization, which can be obtained from their physician or from the local health department office.
Officials said all required vaccinations are available at health department clinics statewide and through providers in the Vaccines for Children program for a $10 fee per vaccination.
