MEMPHIS - Robert Shantz and a co-defendant pleaded not guilty Wednesday to federal charges they robbed a Bank of Bartlett branch.

Shantz and Johnny Harris were arrested July 15 after the suburban bank was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

Shantz is a suspect in a July 7 holdup of Tupelo's West Main Street branch of Trustmark Bank.

The men face another hearing in U.S. District Court on Sept. 22 and are in jail in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

They were indicted July 26 and face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 fine each, if convicted.
