Over the summer, the Arena had its roof replaced, to the tune of $353,285. Then, last week's storms rolled through, and a line of strong winds destroyed the new roof.
"The roof sustained quite a bit of damage, from all of our exhaust fans and roof fence being blown off the roof," said arena director Todd Hunt. "They put some pretty big gashes in it, over a large area."
Those gashes have been patched up, but the entire roof must be replaced, again. Hunt is waiting on word from insurance before moving forward on that.
Just before the storm, the Arena added on a $34,000 system to protect the building from lightening. That system held up through the storm.
