The party said Thursday that the Aug. 31 dinner will honor Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who's in his final year in office.
The $250-a-ticket event is at the Jackson Convention Center.
Barbour, who chaired the Republican National Committee in the mid-1990s, is limited to two terms as governor. Earlier this year, he toured several states with early presidential primaries or caucuses before announcing that he wouldn't enter the 2012 race for the White House.
Christie has repeatedly said he won't run for president, although some conservatives have pushed him to get in the contest.
