The Commercial Dispatch reports Strickland has been charged with murder in the January shooting death of 36-year-old Christopher Wayne George. Strickland is also charged with aggravated assault with a weapon for allegedly shooting at George's wife, Patricia.
Prosecutors say George had been shot multiple times. Strickland was arrested at a local body shop.
Court records show both the defense and prosecution asked Circuit Judge Jim Kitchens for a continuance so they could have more time to prepare for trial.
Strickland remains in custody at the Lowndes County jail. He has been denied bond.
