Springer, a 2002 draft selection of the Kansas City Royals, belted three home runs in the final two games of the series. He hit a grand slam and a solo shot Saturday, then had a two-run blast Sunday.
Nathan White hit two homers, Rasheen Dilworth one and Nate Coleman one for the Black Sox in Sunday final. White also belted a double, along with Reggie Zinn. Eric Adams added three hits, all singles.
Clavin Gray was the winning pitcher in the final game.
In Saturday’s game, Bo Ivy homered and Devin Zinn added three singles.
Verona won back-to-back league titles in 2005 and ‘06.
