TUPELO - Tupelo Marathon director David Whiteside advises those driving along the route of Sunday's race to use caution while approaching and going around runners.

"In years past, drivers along our route have been excellent," Whiteside said. "But we just want to remind everybody to slow down."

Both the marathon and 14.2-mile race will begin at the Tupelo Furniture Market complex at 5 a.m. The route is in the west Tupelo and Belden areas. Runners will likely be on the course as many people head to church.
