Mackey is accused of hitting a police officer in the lip during the altercation, though Mackey says he was pushed into the officer. Oxford police chief Mike Martin has said officers likely believed Mackey considering the charge was just a misdemeanor.
Mackey was suspended for the season-opener against BYU because of the arrest, but was reinstated afterward and played briefly during last week's victory over Southern Illinois. He's listed as the second-team quarterback behind starter Zack Stoudt.
Mackey's next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 9.
