TUPELO - Bond was set at $50,000 for a man accused of shooting another man in the face Thursday night.

Martinez Greg Hughes, 21, is charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a man in the face at Barley Court Apartments. Witnesses said the suspect ran behind the apartment building after the shooting.

A K-9 officer tracked the suspect to a wooded area where he was arrested shortly after. Hughes was in the Lee County jail on Friday.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
