Bond set for Corinth man after shooting

CORINTH - A Corinth man is being held on a $1 million bond in connection with a Friday shooting death.

Antonio T. Shields, 25, is charged with murder for allegedly shooting to death Sylvester Fernando, 38, outside of a convenience store at Cass and Meigg streets.

A witness at the scene said they two men began to argue and Shields pulled a gun out. After struggling over the weapon a shot was fired and Fernando was struck.

He was taken to the Magnolia Regional Health Center where he died. He was treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
