According to New Albany Police Investigator Chris Robertson, a 4-year-old child discovered a gun in the car while in the parking lot of Professional Foam in the Industrial Park. While playing with the gun, he shot himself in the head around 4 p.m.
Robertson said the child was airlifted to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis around 5:30 p.m. and as of 8:30 p.m., he was breathing on his own and his vitals were stable.
