Dennis “Christian” Martin, 40, ran into the woods off County Road 246 as authorities attempted to issue a warrant, said Agent Jeff Palmer of the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit.
Martin is described as 5-feet-7-inches tall, weighting 150 pounds and with hazel eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo on his left arm, and as of midday Monday federal marshals had joined the search in.
The countywide sweep by officers from the Tishomingo, Iuka, Belmont and Burnsville police departments, the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department, Mississippi Department of Corrections and North Mississippi Narcotics Unit early Monday resulted in about 35 arrests, with more arrests expected later in the day.
Among those arrested was Burnsville Alderman James Randy Walker, 54, who was charged with attempted sale of a control substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and child endangerment, Palmer said.
Additionally, some suspects are expected to turn themselves in for arraignment in circuit court on Thursday, Palmer said.
