Many politicians seem to give wealth to the rich

There seems to be quite a bit of hypocrisy amongst the mob now lounging on soft leather seats in the sacred halls of Congress. First, they refuse to extend the unemployment benefits on the grounds that it would make the working man lazy. They forget that taxes from the working man help provide a nice salary for members of Congress, along with other benefits such as a platinum health plan and the opportunity to take unlimited first class flights on fact-finding missions to all the world famous tourist traps, carrying their families. Many times free shopping funds are provided.

Yet these same career politicians recently passed three trade treaties with Panama, South Korea and Columbia that will send thousands of American jobs to foreign shores. It's exactly what they did some years back when they gave us NAFTA, which destroyed the American textile industry while sending millions of badly needed jobs to Asiatic slave labor countries. I believe that every member of our state's congressional delegation voted in favor of these latest trade treaties.

Can it be that most career politicians are now working on the same agenda as the GOP? Like, redistributing the nation's wealth upward from the many to the few. As mentioned before they are taking from the ones seeking crumbs under the table and giving to the ones already gorged at the feast. Trillions to bail out the corrupt gamblers of Wall Street, but not one cent toward creating jobs on Main Street. Billions in tax cuts for the wealthy. Bye-bye for the working man.

Charlie Buckley gets it wrong on the law

This article is in response to Charlie Buckley's letter (Oct. 16) and his opinion that courts must follow only law on gay marriage.

Christianity is not a religion, but a reality. ( II Corinthians 3:3). Christianity is the Christ Doctrine which is revealed to us in the scriptures of God's Holy Word, the Bible.

In addition to the Declaration of Independence via our Constitution, amendments were written by the Founders so that government would recognize the limits of its power. They viewed government as an institution of man, but recognized that the authority to form a government came from God. This is the principle of government, not religion.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain Unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

Government does not grant these rights, it protects and secures these God-given (Unalienable) Rights.

By redefinition of those in power, these important principles can be perverted to justify the deprivation of private property, the elimination of "burdensome" human life, and the perversion of marriage. This is a rejection of the foundational truths upon which our nation was built. A nation that embraces The Creator God can embrace true freedom of religion, whereas an atheistic philosophy of government embraces freedom from religion. The separation of church and state does not mean separation of God and state.

God is The Law. Our Constitution was founded on the Holy Word of God. Homosexuality and gay marriage are not civl rights.

The "personal faith" that Buckley described does not align with the Christian faith, and is often used as an intimidation tactic to quiet Christians, arguing that religion and politics do not mix.

Does that mean that Christians must not vote?

I think not.

Should homosexuals be mistreated? No.

Is homosexuality unforgivable? No.

God loves his children, but he may not love what they are doing.
