New Albany passes smoking ordinance

NEW ALBANY – Aldermen here made their city the latest in Mississippi to restrict smoking in indoor spaces open to the public. Tuesday night’s meeting was slated as a public hearing for the ordinance, but no members of the public offered comment either for or against the measure.

Board members unanimously approved the ordinance, which goes into effect Dec. 1.
