The school fired football coach Houston Nutt, effective at the end of the season, and announced that athletics director Pete Boone will step down.
Manning and Glenn will chair both committees, the first to find the football coach.
The remaining members include:
• Richard Noble, the new president of the Ole Miss Alumni Association and a member of the intercollegiate athletics committee.
• Ronald Rychlak, a professor of law and faculty member since 1987. He is currently the chair of the athletics committee.
• Ethel Young-Minor, since 1996 a member of the English and African-American Studies faculty.
The committee is expected to meet for the first time today.
“We are excited about representing Ole Miss in this important search and look forward to sharing all of the incredible things about this university with candidates,” Manning said. “We will not rest until we have found the best person to lead Ole Miss football.”
Bob Beaudine, a principal in Eastman & Beaudine, a national search firm, has been hired to assist the committee.
A school news release said “updates will be provided when possible,” but the committee will likely make an official statement only after it has chosen a coach to recommend to chancellor Dan Jones.
