Mississippi State's basketball team is now in both major polls this season. The Bulldogs moved up three spots in the latest AP rankings, to No. 21. They went from receiving votes to 24th in the USA Today coaches poll.

MSU is 7-1 and has won six straight since a home loss to Akron on Nov. 9. That streak will be tested Saturday when West Virginia visits Starkville as part of the Big East/SEC Challenge. Tipoff is 8 p.m., television is ESPNU.

This is MSU's first appearance in the coaches poll since a No. 19 ranking prior to the 2009-10 season
