The Jake Leg Stompers, a band that performs pre-World War II roots music, has a concert this weekend at the Blue Canoe in Tupelo.

Lyric Oxford to host concert

for Thacker Mountain Radio

Jimbo Mathus, Jake Fussell, Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry and more are on the bill for a fundraiser for Thacker Mountain Radio.

The concert is 5:30 p.m. today at The Lyric in Oxford.

There will also be readings by Jack Pendarvis and Richard Howorth.

Olga, Cody Dickinson team

for ‘Christmas in Como’ show

Blues musicians Cody Dickinson and Olga will make sure fans have a blue Christmas in Como this weekend.

“Christmas in Como” is an all-day event in downtown Como on Saturday.

The free walkable music and arts celebration begins at 1 p.m., and bagpipers, the Cistern Hill Men’s Gospel Choir, Valerie June and more will perform. There will be an artisan holiday bazaar and kid-friendly activities, too.

At 6 p.m., Olga will perform with Dickinson, and tickets are $10/advance, $15/door.
