The arrest was made during the investigation of a domestic violence case on Old Planters Road. The man was later confirmed to be a dangerous fugitive named Levelle Grandberry.
Due to the diligence of corrections officers at the Lee County Adult Detention Center and Lee County 911, this suspect has now been confirmed to Levelle Deshay Grandberry of Columbus.
Grandberry is wanted for Armed Robbery in Lowndes County. He has a prior felony conviction for Aggravated Assault (Manifesting Extreme Indifference to Life) and MDOC will be placing a hold on him.
Grandberry’s accomplice, Ross Lewis, 23, remains at large. Lewis is wanted by the Plantersville Police for domestic violence, felony drug charges, and possession of stolen property. Ross Lewis is known to be armed with a .32 S&W revolver
“I wish to thank the unsung heroes of law enforcement, the jailers and dispatchers," said Plantersville Police Chief Chief Maury Schuh. "It is due to their devotion of duty that this violent criminal was taken off the streets.”
Grandberry will be transferred to Lowndes Sherriff Office on Tuesday.
