Nettleton Fire Department responded to a call of a house fire at 4527 Union Ave. at about 11:30 p.m. Monday. The house was a total loss, said Nettleton Fire Chief Mike Fulco, and the cause is undetermined. The fire is under investigation.
The home's smoke alarm woke up the family inside, and all were able to escape to safety, he said.
