ABERDEEN - A Mississippi man will be sentenced in February for failing to register as a sex offender.

Derrick Myatt was convicted of sexual battery in 2001. The indictment in his current case says he failed to update his sex offender status between May and October 2010 in Mississippi and failed to register in Maine and Tennessee. He pleaded guilty in August.

His sentencing is set for Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court in Aberdeen, Miss. He's being held in jail in Oxford.
