TUPELO - The Girl Scouts Heart of the South Council will start taking orders for cookies on Saturday.

In addition to taking orders door-to-door and asking family and friends for orders, the Scouts are also taking Cookie Promises online at girlscoutshs.org. Scouts can't make a money transaction online but can promise a box to a customer on the website.

Orders will be taken through Jan. 30, and cookies will arrive in the middle of February. Booth sales will begin on Feb. 18.

Cookies are $3.50 per box and flavors include Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Dulce De Leche, Thank U Berry Munch, Trefoils and Savannah Smiles, a limited edition lemon cookie that has replaced the Lemon Chalet Cremes and honors the Girl Scouts' founding in Savannah, Ga., 100 years ago.

On Thursday night the Scouts hosted a Cookie Rally to get the girls excited about cookie season.
