According to Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson, the two suspects entered into an argument with the resident of 12775 Highway 371 North in the Kirkville area. The suspects allegedly left the property and later returned with a 12-gauge shotgun, which they discharged at the house.
Although several people, including a child, were inside the house during the shooting, no one was injured. Both suspects were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the shooting.
As of Monday, neither suspect had been formally charged nor had their names been released. Dickinson said both will likely be charged on Tuesday with shooting of an occupied dwelling. If convicted, the charge carries a five to 10 year sentence.
