The Commercial Dispatch reported Monday that the other finalists are Bulloch County (Ga.) School District Superintendent Lewis Holloway, Union Public School District Superintendent Michael McInnis, Bay-Waveland High School Principal David A. Parker and Jackson County School District Assistant Superintendent Michael Van Winkle.
Board President Keith Coble describes the candidate pool as "strong." Each has experience as an assistant superintendent; Holloway and McInnis are the only two who have held a district's top job.
All will be interviewed in executive session Jan. 28. The board will narrow the list after a round of public interviews scheduled Feb. 2 at Starkville High School.
The district is looking to replace Judy Couey, who resigned in April.
