BADWYN – The Brice’s Crossroads Battlefield-Chief Tishomingo Scenic Byway that was dedicated in Baldwyn today was celebrated by representatives of the Chickasaw Nation, the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Brice’s Crossroads National Battlefield Commission, along with many other guests.

The eight-mile scenic byway loop adds new interpretive signage to explain the significance of the Native American presence that overlaps the site of the 1864 Battle of Brice’s Crossroads.

Beginning at the Mississippi’s Final Stands Visitors and Interpretive Center (formerly Brice’s Crossroads Visitors and Interpretive Center), the route continues from Grisham Street west on Mississippi 370 to County Road 833, then south to County Road 503, continuing to Mississippi 348 and turning east to end at Main Street in Guntown.

A brochure and map with interpretive information is available at the visitors center.
