TUPELO – Calvin Ellis’ personnel hearing resumes at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Hancock Leadership Center.

The hearing resumes for its ninth day of testimony with Ellis’ attorney, David Butts, presenting his client’s defense. The hearing is expected to be completed Tuesday.

Ellis was fired from his job as Tupelo High School choral director on Oct. 28. He requested a public hearing, which began on Dec. 5-7 and continued Jan. 30 to Feb. 3. It was recessed until Monday because of scheduling conflicts.

When the hearing is completed, the district’s school board will have 30 days to read the transcript and decide Ellis’ fate.
