Mississippi State’s starting frontcourt is banged up, but coach Rick Stansbury is hopeful of their speedy return.

Forward Arnett Moultrie is “probable" for Saturday’s game at Auburn after suffering a

shoulder injury against LSU on Tuesday.

Stansbury said there was some swelling on the 6-foot-11 Moultrie’s left (non-shooting) shoulder, but MRI tests came back negative.

Moultrie, who’s averaging 16.5 points and an SEC-leading 10.8 rebounds per game, was limited in Thursday’s practice.

“He’s a tough kid, and he wants to play, so he’ll push through a little bit of pain. I couldn’t say that for everybody," Stansbury said.

Renardo Sidney sat out Thursday’s practice with back spasms, which he also experienced prior to the LSU game.

Stansbury said the 6-foot-10 Sidney, who’s averaging 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, received an injection on Wednesday.

“We’ll see where he is. I don’t know (if he’ll play) right now,” Stansbury said.

MSU (19-7, 6-5 SEC) has lost two in a row. Tipoff against Auburn (13-12, 3-8) is 7 p.m.
