The team, which travels the country to bring awareness to the sacrifices and resilience of the military, will compete in games against teams from the Tupelo Police Department, Tupelo Fire Department and Tupelo Water and Light Department.
“It’s an honor to be able to salute veterans in such an extraordinary way,” said Seth Gaines, director of sports development for the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“The commitment and strength of these men is inspiring and we’re glad to have them in Tupelo.”
The Wounded Warriors are comprised of veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs since Sept. 11, 2001, while serving their country in the military.
