Rio Jemon Jeffries, age 23, of Holly Springs, MS was arrested at his residence yesterday by investigators of the Attorney General’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with assistance from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Holly Springs Police Department. Jeffries was booked into the Marshall County jail and charged with one count possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces between five and 40 years behind bars.
The case will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Brandon Ogburn of the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit.
As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
