INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Defensive players at Alabama and LSU are preparing for Round 3 of their rivalry.

This time, they're battling in Indianapolis, home of the NFL's annual scouting combine, and the winners won't take home a trophy but a bigger paycheck.

Alabama's corner includes linebacker Courtney Upshaw, cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick and safety Mark Barron — all possible first-round draft picks in April. LSU counters with cornerback Morris Claiborne, defensive tackle Michael Brockers and safety Brandon Taylor.

It's not surprising because these were the nation's two best college defenses. They played twice as the No. 1 and 2 teams, and Alabama won the national championship.

None of that matters this week as players from both teams are focused on one goal — improving their stock for April's draft.
