Tupelo woman held on Smithville bank robbery charge

OXFORD – Johnnica Williams of Tupelo faces a one-count federal indictment that she held up

Smithville’s Renasant Bank on Jan. 10.

Williams, 22, is accused of bank robbery assault with a deadly weapon.

Her one-page indictment, dated Feb. 22 but just made public, accuses her of robbing or attempting to rob the bank at 63471 Highway 25,

Smithville, with a Crossman Stinger P36 Airsoft BB pistol.

If convicted, Williams faces up to 25 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
