TUPELO – The driver of a car that ended up in the pond at the TVA electric grid near Fairpark walked away from the incident unharmed.

The vehicle’s brakes failed at about 3:45 p.m. Monday and the car wound up in the pond near the grid. The driver was not injured in the accident, and the car was pulled out about 30 minutes later, said Maj. Jackie Clayton with the Tupelo Police Department.
