Moultrie, a 6-foot-11 junior forward, and teammate Dee Bost were both named to the coaches All-SEC first team on Tuesday. Guard Rodney Hood was named to the all-freshman team.
Ole Miss was represented by senior guard-forward Terrance Henry on the second team and junior forward Reggie Buckner on the league defensive team.
A transfer from UTEP who had to sit out last season, per NCAA transfer rules, Moultrie stepped in this year and made an immediate impact. The Memphis native is averaging 16.1 points and leads the SEC in both rebounding (10.7 per game) and double-doubles (18).
He's shooting 55.9 percent from the field and 78.2 percent from the free throw line.
Moultrie was also named to the USBWA All-District team Tuesday. On Monday, he won the Howell Trophy, which is awarded annually to the state's top male college basketball player.
It's been a progression of sorts for Bost, a senior point guard. He was on the all-freshman team in 2009, then earned second-team honors last season.
Bost averages 15.8 points and an SEC-leading 5.3 assists per game. He's made 39.6 percent of his field goal attempts, including 34.8 percent from 3-point range. He shoots 75.6 percent at the free throw line.
Hood, who signed out of Meridian High School and entered the starting lineup immediately, averages 10.5 points and 4.8 rebounds while making 45.5 percent of his shots (37.6 percent from behind the arc).
He missed one game and has been limited the last two with a knee injury but is expected to play in this week's SEC Tournament in New Orleans.
With the return of power forward Murphy Holloway to the Ole Miss lineup, Rebels coach Andy Kennedy moved Henry to the perimeter. As a result, his rebounding numbers are down, but he was better offensively facing the basket and, standing 6-foot-9 out on the edge, became a matchup problem for many Ole Miss opponents.
Henry is averaging 12.3 points, up almost three points from 2011. He's shooting 46.8 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from 3-point range, and will arrive in New Orleans on a pretty good run.
He had 10 points on 3 for 6 shooting in a tough defensive game in the Rebels' 60-51 win over Alabama in the regular season finale.
In the four games prior, Henry averaged 18.2 points.
Buckner improves
Buckner became the school's career blocked shots leader in December. He's averaging 2.3 blocked shots per game and has 64 for this season.
Buckner made great gains in his rebounding this season, his 8.4 rebounds a game up almost two rebounds a game from last year's average.
Buckner has 235 rebounds on the season, a team-best 91 on the offensive end.
The eight-man first team had two players apiece from Florida, Kentucky, MSU and Vanderbilt.
Kentucky nearly swept the individual honors. Freshman Anthony Davis was named player of the year, defensive player of the year and freshman of the year. His coach, John Calipari, was named coach of the year, and senior Darius Miller was sixth man of the year.
