For new coach Ellis Johnson, even the shortened practice was worth the time and energy after Saturday's scrimmage.
"We were very fortunate to get this one," Johnson said. "We needed to correct a lot of things from the scrimmage and get some other things accomplished. I think we had a really good practice considering that."
The focus on Monday?
"It was mostly cleanup from the scrimmage," said Johnson. "we made some corrections and had more 1-on-1 fundamental work against each other and some group things."
Southern Miss will return to the practice field for the final time this week on Wednesday, weather permitting, and will have three spring practice sessions remaining.
The Golden Eagles' annual spring game is set for April 14.
