A big coaching victory for Hamilton's Lewis Earnest and a look at April Madness in High School baseball ...

Northeast Mississippi has certainly become spoiled by the coaching exploits in the major sports by Rex Berryman in baseball, Jim Drewry in football, and Norris Ashley in basketball.

They are or were the winningest coaches in our state of Mississippi in their respective sports.

And just to throw another couple of names out like Sam Richey and Mike Bain.

Ashley passed Richey, so that means they are 1-2. And I have long respected Bain with perhaps the most state titles in any sport by any coach, his being in cross country.

But hopefully we are not too spoiled to overlook coaching milestones of others.

That is why I touch on the 400th career victory of Lewis Earnest of the Hamilton Lions.
