The Avett Brothers are taking the stage at the BancorpSouth Arena for a special “an evening with” performance on Saturday. The North Carolina-based folk rockers released its major label debut, “I and Love and You,” produced by Rick Rubin, in 2009. Actors remember Civil War
with musical ‘On Shiloh Hill’
Songs and stories of the Civil War come to life in “On Shiloh Hill: A Musical Resurrection of the Civil War,” presented by Corinth Theatre-Arts.
The musical drama tells the story of families torn apart by the war and honors the 150th anniversaries of the Battles of Shiloh and Corinth.
The show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Coliseum Civic Center in Corinth.

at Mississippi State University
Emmy Award-winning actress Patricia Heaton, star of shows like “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle,” will speak at MSU next week.
Her lecture is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Humphrey Coliseum. It’s free and open to the public.
The lecture is a part of the Delta Gamma Dorothy Garrett Martin Lectureship in Values and Ethics.
