TUPELO - Personal items once belonging to former Stanford executive James Davis will be auctioned May 12, Seth Worstell tells the Daily Journal.

Publication of the sale will be made in the Daily Journal, as well as The Houston Chronicle in Texas, where Allen Stanford founded his financial empire.

Seth Worstell Auctioning Co., at 4200 Blaffer St., will handle the sale under the supervision of the Stanford court-appointed receiver.

Stanford, 62, was convicted March 6 of a $7.2 billion Ponzi scheme on investors in certificates of deposit through his Stanford International Bank Ltd. Davis pleaded guilty to his part in September 2009.

Davis was the company's chief financial officer.

Davis once lived near Baldwyn and often worked out of Stanford's Tupelo and Memphis offices.

Worstell's company can be reached at (866) 639-8394.

Among the Davis items to be auctioned are four vehicles, a Cartier watch, a boat and various household items.

Proceeds will go toward paying the receiver's expenses and building a victims pool.
