TUPELO – Tupelo police are searching for the man who robbed the Popeyes restaurant on Gloster Street late Saturday night.

Capt. Tim Tate said two employees were taking trash out after the restaurant closed when a suspect stepped out from behind the garbage disposal with a gun. The suspect, a black male in his mid-20s with short dreadlocks, took money from the store and fled the scene.

The employees were not injured.

Police are reviewing security camera footage from the restaurant as they continue to investigate
