House Apportionment and Elections Chair Bill Denny, R-Jackson, did not provide copies of the plan this morning when it was unveiled and passed by a subcommittee.
Copies of the plan are expected to be released later today as the plan makes its way through legislative committees. If it passes all of those committees as expected, it probably will be taken up by the full House Thursday.
House District 16 is represented by Steve Holland, D-Plantersville.
Both chambers redraw their districts this year based on population shifts found by the 2010 census. The Senate has yet to announce when its plan will be unveiled.
Based on preliminary reviews, it did not appear any other major changes occurred in Northeast Mississippi.
But overall, the House Republican majority is pairing three sets of Democrats. In two other instances, Democrat incumbents and Republican incumbents are being paired.
