BURNSVILLE – Investigation continues into the death of an Iuka man who died from injuries received when a methamphetamine lab exploded.

Tishomingo County deputies responded about 2 a.m. Thursday to an explosion and fire on County Road 206 off Highway 365 south of Burnsville, and a camper trailer was ablaze when deputies arrived, said Assistant Chief Deputy Jeff Palmer.

Victim Russell Bond, 32, of Iuka, who had severe burns, died a short time later at North Mississippi Medical Center-Iuka.

An investigation by North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, the sheriff’s office and deputy fire marshal indicated a methamphetamine lab had caused the fire and injuries that caused Bond’s death.

They also arrested Allen Skinner, 40, for attempted manufacture of methamphetamine.
